Hi all been out of the forum for a while, but busy.

Some may remember my ET center in the G&G style, well my wife had to have one as well. (More like a demand :-D )

Here it is Cherry, ebony accents and Purple heart flowers. I uses a few strips of Mahogany as well for background. Inlaid and flush this time insted of proud.

My Inlay technique was a little off this time. But I am learning.

Camera was actiing up on me focus was #@$%^%$^. Sorry. But this took a while I had to let the Purple heart return to color after sanding.

I have missed a lot by the looks of the post.

Thanks,

James

Hey no apologies necessary - it's a great project. Don't look too close at our son's canoe or you'll see those mistakes too. I used to sweat the mistakes to the point of madness and our son put it all in perspective for me...

"Dad, nobody's going to see it from more than four feet away and the fish won't care once they're in the bottom of the canoe".

He's right.

I love your use of the woods and how you arranged them. Good job.

Beautiful work James and I can't see any mistakes. I don't think
I've ever made anything that I didn't feel I could have done
better but the reality of it is no one but the maker sees the mistakes.
I look at as a special relationship between the maker and the piece -
you both share the secrets that no one else knows.

Great work - you're inlay is stunning

Tom

If my best work turned out as good as what you refer to as mistakes, I'd consider it a success. Very handsome piece, James.
