Still working on dovetails. But, right now, the lawn mower is calling me.

Better hurry Larry, its suppose to rain.

My woodworking has been sidelined for a while and with the exception of a bowl I have to turn for my cousins wedding I won't doing much of it this summer.

Why? Well I have a classic car that's been in pieces for about 9 years. I have four sons and not one of them has ever shown an interest in cars. Well my youngest (23) comes to me and says we should put it together this summer.

WooHoooooo, quality time with my son. :D :D :D

Hey Larry,

Still working on the bookcase. I hope to get it finished this weekend, but it probably won't make it into the apartment until next week.

Fester - My lawn is now mowed 1 1/2 acres. 'course the majority of it was mowed using a 42" mower but I did have to hand mow my two long and steep ditches with a push mower. I also do not have a bank like you do to mow. :) :-D :D

Well, due to a mishap with some hand-held trimmers, all woodworkng is called off until Wednesday when the stitches come out. Must be my year for stitches, and I hope these are the last.

So, I will be going to the infamous Broadripple Art Fair Sunday. I'll be able to drool, ohhhhh and ahhhhhh, and just marvel at the artwork created by others. Hopefully my sisters and I can get Chance to go on Sunday so he can check it out also.

And, play with the new puppy, Sunny Day!!!!

What is this???? STITCHES??? We don't need no stinking stitches!! :x

If dirt or saw dust don't stop the bleeding, you can always try duct tape or super glue. :D Works for me!!
Doctors want money not only to put the stitches in but, then they want more money to take them out too!!! Bad deal all around.
Heal fast, and stop picking on the scab, it will leave a scar.

Yeah, and didn't you just have stitches removed? Couldn't you reuse them? Seems like a waste of perfectly good stitches to me!

Roger, it normally takes me a couple of days to realize I should have went for stitches. Not this time--I knew right away.

It'll feel better once the stitches are out. All I can say is that if you want a really sharp pair of garden handheld trimmers, try the Fiskers bypass ones--just keep your fingers out of the way!!!

And yeah, Dr's this year have been rather expensive.

Thanks for the concern--now back to our regularly scheduled woodworking stuff!!!

HAH! Finally the 5/4 riftsawn red oak I ordered came in. So, this weekend I'm working on the table top tot he dining set commission.

What bugs me is that I had to order 40 BF even though I only need around 23 BF for the top. Dang sticks are too short to cut in half to get 2 boards from every stick so I have to WASTE all that extra material.

Well, not "waste" exactly. I can use most of it on the chairs for the set. I'm just going to thickness plane a lot off of it in the process.

Going to the zoo with the fam this morning and then swinging by the orange box for some plants, some GoJo, nitrile gloves, a piece of trex to try in my Carvewright. (thank you again Home Depot for giving active duty a discount here in Tucson... it must cost you quite a bit but it is very much appreciated) We are then going to one of our favorite places for lunch, a little Greek restaurant called "My big Fat Greek restaurant" Because today is kids eat free day so if LOML and I each get our norm (chicken pita lunch) we can walk out the door after sharing a desert and a 20% tip and still be around $25 out of pocket for lunch.

This afternoon I'm putting up some trellis and doing the final measurements for our next upcoming home job-- a kitchen remodel (we are leaving the granite c-tops, refinishing the cabinets, putting in new drawers w/soft close glides, crown molding, under-cabinet lighting, drawer and door pulls, and new tile. I plan to do the bulk of the work during an upcoming 2-week vacation during which time we'll also be going to San Diego for a couple of days.

Please heal quick Verna-- and be careful!

Ned, be careful as well please-- deadlines can lead to rushing which usually ends up with me getting a boo boo. I know you'll take the time to get it all right and good luck again my friend.

All the rest of you have a fine weekend as well-
Lawrence

Duly noted my friend,
I've been taking it nice and slow... I may still get 10 done, or I may get just 2 done, either way, it is still shop time, and I've been in the house for too much time for a long while now.
