ImageShack.us I got a chance to get back into the shop and finish these boxes last weekend.They are Rayfleck Sycamore,Cherry,Black Walnut,and,Ipe.There are a few birthdays coming up so I got them finished in time.

Nice boxes. I like the contrasting colors and textures. The sycamore makes me dizzy. How did you make the sides?

Thanks for looking.On the sides I cut out the concave part with a round nose bit and then cut the angle up to the curve with a ryoba.Then I planed and scraped to the line on the template.I shaped the top curve with a block plane.

Can't say enough about the boxes, but, here goes. They are AWESOME, the detail and figuring are top notch.
I especially liked the curved tops and the sides.
Great work on those, they are sure to bring grins and kudos from the ones that receive them.

The boxes are great, I like the shape. Just simple enough to enjoy the beauty of the wood. I have to say nicely done. Another design I'll put in the vault, thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the kind compliments.Ray Fleck Sycamore isn't for everyone,but,I like to use woods that really contrast some times.
