It is nearly upon us and the forecast is rain in Cincinnati.

I'd be happier if my workshop were not filled with old kitchen cabinets that will become new shop cabinets if I can just get a free weekend with decent weather. Hopefully the rain gods will have mercy and only come intermittently alllowing me to empty the shop to tear out the old "workbench" in order to put in these cabinets.

If not, I guess I'll be doing more wiring and prepping for the new cabinets in the kitchen.

What are you doing this weekend?

Caleb

The wife is in town and while she "SAYS" she wants to work in the shop on some boxes that have been in progress for some time, I'd doubt I'll get much time in there.

See you all in about a week or so.

SWMBO is going on vacation so I might actually get something done for a change. This weekend I'll be finishing the built-ins so that next weekend I can install them. I be sure to post some before and after pics.

Perhaps start turning my first bowl "unsupervised." Got the bowl-turning books and DVDs in the mail this week, time to get brave.

Well, I've been using my recently tuned up #4 (pics are possible...) on my veneered boards to smooth them out-- I'd like to finish smoothing at least what will become the exterior surfaces and then start constucting the outside casework of the entertainment center. I took y'alls advice and completed the pieces after first thickness sanding the veneers, but now I want a planed surface before finishing.

Tomorrow morning though, we're (Karen and my two boys) headed to the Saguaro national forest (West) and will be doing some light hiking and flower looking-at followed by lunch at one of our favorite local mexican restaurants.

well a buddy of mine stopped by, and helped me get my bandsaw running again. (third hand and a second set of eyes solved the extremely simple problem)

Tomorrow morning I'm going to stop down to my local hardware store and pick up 3, no I'd better get 4 screws long enough to mount my router in a jig so I can use a dish cutting bit to smooth out a couple of short cutting boards that I dont' feel like launching with my planer. I'm also going to render down some small logs into turning blanks.
