I made this bar for a friend. It's been a long time in the making but I finally finished it and set it up last week end. It's so good to have it done. The bar top is a 3/16" thick poured epoxy. The wood is cherry, finished with shellac seal, then tung oil, blo, poly mixture; then just poly.

What a wonderful piece of work. You are very talented. I really love the panels. The natural finish was a great choice.
How many board feet of cherry do you have in that?
:-D

Thanks to all for the compliments.

It actually looks darker than the pictures, I think the flash washes out the color somewhat.

There's about 150 bf of boards and 8 sheet of cherry plywood used to make it.

Very nice! So what kind of epoxy did you use for the top? How did pouring it go?

I'm curious because there has been talk of me doing a bar top for our local curling club. We were thinking of inlaying some graphics and/or pins in the top and covering with epoxy.

OK, that raised panel facing on the bar is what makes it for me. Very classy look...

Did you go with a cope-and-stick joint for the frames?

That's just too cool...

Brian, I got the epoxy from US Composites, www.uscomposites.com/kk121.html
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be, I got the table as level as I could, put a seal coat down then 4 hours latter poured the final epoxy on. Poured it around and let it level itself, did not touch. Then used hot air gun to blow on it and the little bubbles just came to the top and popped.

Tampa Tom, yes it is cope-and-stick joints.

The bull nose makes it look beefy as a bar should look 8)

Finish looks great.

Nice job.
