Well I been busy... this took a long time.

Here are some of the doors to my new ET center, with inlay, the frames are just layed on for the look. I will frame and panel them next weekend.

I tried for a cherry blossom look,

See "Inlay"

Here is the ET itself,

Question????

On the left you can see some figured saplee wood that will be the panels of the side doors, WHAT IS THE BEST WAY MAKE THAT GRAIN POP, STAND OUT, SHOUT, SCREAM. I have it scraped and 1000 steel whool polished. The picture does the wood no justice it really has an amazing quilted pattern to it.

Thanks,

James

Hey James,

Beautiful inlay work! I would love to be able to do that myself. Someday maybe I'll learn how.

For the sapele, I would us the old R&C method. A wipe with 1# cut blond shellac, buffed with fine steel wool, and followed by a coat of linseed or other oil based finish,

I can't wait to see it when it's finished.

Tom

Stunning work! Really love the inlay. What wood did you use for the pink blossums?

I'll second the R&C! That's got to be the best finish for figured woods. 8)

You won't even need a TV. You can just admire the inlay. You won't want to open the door.

Great work!! :)
