I made this little workbench over the weekend for my gandson's birthday and will give it to him this coming weekend. Most of the tools on it are bought but a couple of them are made by me and I still have a few more to make this week. Also I am making him a construction set, kinda like an erector set, but all out of wood and all the stuff in the tray on the right are wooden nuts and bolts. I also made the vise using the Beall wood threader. I made a few changes to the vise before I mounted it and didn't get a picture of the changes but they were only minor.....Jim

What a great idea, jimgsr, and a fine job on it, too. That will keep him occupied for many happy hours and maybe light a continuing fire. How old is he?

What is with the "plastic " tools? He cann't cut wood with them. When my gradson was three he recieved a battery driven plastic saber saw for christmas . The next time he came overt he brought it with him and he was mad that it would not cut wood. The next time he came over he had a circular saw ( same battery operated type, they were a set ) as he came up the stairs he said: " If this saw doesn't cut wood I am going to be very, very disapointed!" He was a disapointed helper. He has his own drill (hand operated) and a coping saw now that he is almost six! He can finally cut wood. Now he is not disapointed.

Love it, now you know where to look when your tools go wandering off.

Great workbench, Jim!!!

By the way....where do you get the plastic tools? My great-nephew is 16 months old and he imitates everything   If he had some plastic tools he would really be trying to help fix things around the house :D :D

Did you thread the vise screw yourself? That's awesome...
