Spring has arrived in Cincinnati, that means the outdoor building season can commence. A friend of a friend has a son with severe muscular dystrophy and is wheel chair bound. We started an addition to their house that would make it more wheelchair accessible for him but the project started too late in the year and was put on hold by Winter weather arriving early. The framers have been there all week this week so it's off to move them a little further along the path to completion. Hopefully we can have them under a solid roof by the end of the weekend so that interior work can begin!

Hopefully finishing up on the maple logs I've been cutting for the last week or so. Got one left to do.

Also doing battle with wasps and borer bees.

Back up to WY tonight. Just planning to do yard work, get the sprinklers turned on, clean the pond filter, and do some archery with the wife. I'm giving her a new bow, arrows and target for her B Day. Don't think I'll get any shoptime. :(

I think I can get the finish on my "contest wine rack" and get a little more work on the "ongoing rocking chair project" this weekend.
I may start the "design part" of an end table that I've been thinking about.

Saturday I'm all day at the turners' club 'Pay Day' where we set up all the club lathes and just play around with different aspects of turning. Sunday installing a new bathroom vanity for my son & DIL.

Someday I'll get that last kitchen cabinet done and hung.

That is really cool Ralph !!!

I had never heard of Meccano before. Here, across the pond, we grew up calling them just "Erector Sets". I had no idea that there were collectors and clubs for one of the greatest "toys" ever made.

It's a shame that kids nowadays aren't exposed as much to these.....they're great for expanding the mind...

I loved erector sets as a kid,
but alas, had to rely on my imagination for a lot of things back then,
not any good at video games, too much home improvement, woodworking and other hobbies take up my time, and still have to use my imagination, skills and planning thought.

Hummmm, I don't know yet.

This will be a relaxing weekend for me. Maybe some work on a flower bed that the recent sewer installation went through. Maybe some more work on rearranging some lumber in the garage....only 4 more days of trying NOT to tear out the stitches in my finger.....

Just got back from our build today. Talk about a good feeling! The last time I saw this place, it was a far-from-flat foundation with a lot of structural challenges that had to be addressed. By the time we were done today, the interior and exterior walls were all framed, the first trusses were swayed up onto the top of the addition and some of the sheathing had been put in place. With a little more work from volunteers, they should be under roof by the end of the month.
