Does anybody out there have any opinions on which glue to use for Ebony or will plain ole Titebond work just fine? :-D

I think that will work, but if I remember correctly it does not hurt to wipe down the glue surface with acetone to get rid of some of the oil on ebony. Im sure it is good to do it with teak, but i think ebony too.

Sorry probably not much help...

what are you making?

Is Ebony oily?

When I was gluing Teak (for the first and last time ) I wiped it with Alcohol, I think, then used a polyurethane glue (Gorilla Glue). That’s what was recommended to me at the time.

I have used ebony when making knife handles. Small pieces. Ive glued it with 2 part epoxy glue. It works very well.

I use ebony to cuff the feet of Federal table legs. I use liquid or hot hide glue and clamp for 24 hrs. The bond is a death grip.

I don't wipe the ebony with anything.
