I bought a 1995 28 foot Komfort this weekend and the cabinets have kind of a white chalky appearance on some. I suspect its from a bit of moisture. Does anyone have any idea on how to shine those up and make them pretty again? BLO? Tung Oil?

I've cleaned it. They are oak cabinets and it's sort of patchy and I've cleaned them. I'll try BLO on one and see what happens.

You could try Murphy Oil Soap first from your local hardware or grocery store.

Yes a soap of some sort. I think clean them well with a soap and then maybe a paste wax for a bit of luster if they are lacking.

You might try cleaning them with mineral spirits.
Old English oil if they are a light or dark oil if they are dark, I have used it with success on some kitchen cabinets.

What sort of finish has been applied to the doors? It maybe that it is the finish that has become defective. If it is a varnish of some kind it may need cutting back, it is hard to tell without seeing them. Do you have any pictures?

If you let Ms. Mango and I use it for our 20th, I will at my cost try different finishes and get back to you
