I don´t know if this is the right forum for my question.. anyway:
I´d like to come in contact with wood work teachers that have experience of portfolio technique. I E that save photos, blueprints or samples of their students progress. I´m interesting in how it´s done - digital or analog.
Thank you beforehand.
/Anders

Hi Anders,
I'm not a woodworking teacher, but I have some experience with keeping a portfolio as I did this with my Drafting and Design students when I was teaching AutoCADD. I also keep a running portfolio of my own projects.

When it comes to keeping and working on these portfolios it's really a matter of what works best for you and the overall situation. In my case, as I was teaching ACADD which is a digital format anyway, it was easiest to keep a digital portfolio. I also keep my personal portfolio digitally as most of my projects that I do draw up plans for, I draw in ACADD and all of my photography is digital as well. It also works best for me from a space standpoint. A flash drive takes up less room than a file cabinet.

However, if you are teaching students who are working from hand drawn plans, it may be easier to keep it all in the tangable realm and keep the actual prints on hand.

One other option though, if you have access to a scanner, you could scan their hand drawings into a digital format.

Hope this helps.
