I've lost the use of my neighbor's Bosch SCMS recently and found a Jet 10" SCMS on Craigslist. I can find very few reviews of this saw. The one I did find was quite good but I'm being extra careful and wonder if anyone out there has any news on the machine at all.

How long has it been on the market? Any known problems. Searching the web just brings up a few places to buy it but no more reviews.

Thanks for any help on this.

Jon: I don't know what price they are asking or anything about that brand saw, but I have a DeWalt 12" and if you can find a 12" I think you would be much happier with that. You can cut a much wider board and be able to cut angles on boards wider than you can with a 10" saw. Just my thoughts as I found this quite often. You lose a lot of ability to cut boards when you cut angles. (thats in width)

Jon, I second DonR's suggestion about the 12", in any brand SCMS. I also have the DeWalt 12" SCMS and that extra two inches comes in so handy. I was able to cut my laminate flooring in one pass.

I don't know how the size of the motor compares, but the DeWalt has handled everything I've ever put on its table!!

Just my two cents.

I've got a 10" SCMS that will crosscut 12" and that does most of what I need. Blades are a lot cheaper too. Didn't know that Jet made a SCMS.
