I just replaced the blades in my Dewalt DW735 with a set from Infinity Tools. I've had the planer for about 5 years and been pleased with its performance. I'm only a hobbiest so I don't use the planer like a production shop and my experience with the OEM blades has been pretty good. I know many have complained about how quickly the OEM blades dull but that's not been my experience. Anyway, I decided to replace this go around with the HSS Infinity blades to see if they were as good as advertised.
I ran my first timbers through over the weekend and the performance appeared good. Of course, only time will tell if they hold up longer than the OEM blades. The Infinity replacements are about $25 more than the Dewalt brand. One thing I did notice was the difference in sound of the planer with the Infinity blades. It's got a deeper pitch I guess because the blades are a little thicker than the originals. The planer is always noisey (induction motors
) but the pitch has definitely changed.
Anyone else use these blades and what's been your experience?
