Anybody got any heads up or warnings regarding building a Sleigh Bed? Looks like a pretty good challenge.

I'm about to get started building one. I'm looking at the one in Fine Woodworking issue 197. It's somewhat different, got curved X slats.

Just wondering. agriffee

Just be careful as to what kind of Reigndeer you hitch up to it. :D :D :D

Looking forward to seeing this one.

I recently finished a king size bed (not sleigh), and found "Beds", by Jeff Miller to be a huge help. Unless you have some experience with bed building, I'd highly recommend his book. Well worth the price ($16.47 ) - http://www.amazon.com/Beds-Jeff-Miller/ ... 257&sr=1-1

I'd drive down to Henderson to see it!!!! Just kidding (but you are just 4 hours from Indy--give or take a few minutes), but I don't think I've seen a sleigh bed crafted by a woodworker. Definitely, please keep the pictures coming as you make it.

YOU DID IT!!!! Now, isn't Photobucket easier?????

I can't figure out why the pictures are showing up next to each other, instead of above each other.......maybe someone else has an answer.

I want to thank everyone who helped me get halfway on track in this forum. I owe special thanks to Gene, Dennis and Frank who spent a lot of time forwarding directions. Thanks everyone!

Now that I can do some of these things this photo sharing is fun. You can see some of my work at: http://s790.photobucket.com/home/agriffee 2010

The jig that follows is one that I used to finish the post on Amanda's Pencil Post Bed. It won a best jig prize in Woodsmith issue #181. That earned me $200 which helped offset the cost of giving the bed to my Granddaughter.

If I could just get these pictures to fall in right order and I will work on that picture pixel or whatever soon Dennis.
