Hi everyone. I don't post here much but I do stop by everyday and keep up with you guys and gals.

I haven't completed a project for a while but I finally have one and thought you might like to see it.

The wife asked me to build her a makeup vanity. She said she was tired of standing up in front of the bathroom mirror and would like to be able to sit when applying her make up.l

I searched the internet and books looking for a design and finally decided on this. Hope you like. It's made of cherry wood. The finish is BLO, Shellac, and varnish.

Love the cherry, love the curves, and love the reflection in the mirrors!!

Thanks for the inspiration!!!

Beautiful design well executed, 10. The scroll work looks awefully good but the legs are stunning.

So I have to ask, are they an example of your outstanding skills? I'm hoping there is someone on the forum that could do that kind of work. I know I wouldn't even try. I could maybe make one, but 4 exactly alike would be a years work. How'd ya do it?

Thanks for the kind words. Making the legs are not that difficult. I believe that most any woodworker could make those legs with a good set of instructions. when I first learned how to make them I use the instruction in WoodSmith magazine # 106. I followed those instruction pretty close but use some different tools than they recommend. For example, manly cabriolet leg instruction show using a spoke shave to shape the legs. Well I don't even own a spoke shave so I used my OSS in its place.

What many don't realize is the legs don't have to be exactly the same, my legs are not exactly the same but the human eye can not see the difference.
