I ran into a nice couple yesterday at HF, who had some questions about turning tools. I just happened by as they were asking and as usual, the people that work there don't know much about the tools. So I asked them what they were turning. ALABASTER. My jaw almost hit the floor. Turning stone with wood tools? Come to find out, there's an alabaster supply company up in Ft. Collons, just North of here, and they have their own quarry up in the foot hills of the rockies. So, that got me thinking that I may give it a shot myself. I'll let you know how it goes, when I get the time to try it.
