Has anyone used Cactus Juice , Stick Fast or another Stabilizing Resin for turning pens with spalted or other unstable woods?
If so any tips or one over the other.
I have some beautiful spalted wood that is a little to punky to turn well, it is from a special location.
Or other sugestions

One of our club members has done quite a bit of experimenting with Cactus Juice with good results. If you're not already familiar with the process, you'll need a good vacuum chamber and something like a small toaster oven to bake the blank in after it's been infused. I've also experimented with regular wood stabilization products with some success. It's really fascinating to watch the air get sucked out of the wood when the vacuum is applied. Amazing how much material will get absorbed back in.

Keep us posted on your progress!
